In
a move to boost the Tourism industry, Toyota, Kenya’s car market leader today
held a consultative meeting with The Kenya Association of Tour Operators
(KATO), at the Toyota Mombasa Branch.
The meeting comes at a time when the
Tourism industry is crippled by various issues, one of which is poor road
infrastructure and lack of quality vehicle models to navigate tour terrains
that has caused millions of losses for the tour companies.
“At Toyota we are inspired by KATO’s
dedication to provide quality delivery in the Tourism sector, to complement
this efforts we are encouraged to build innovative models that will take
tourists to their ideal destinations within Kenya.”Says Christian Kasima
Marketing manager Toyota Kenya.
“Toyota prides itself in production
for use, and especially designs models that fit our customer’s needs. We are
glad to join KATO in showcasing Kenya to local and international tourists,” adds
Kasima during the meeting.
KATO, the respected trade
association that represents the interests of over 350 most experienced and
professional tour operators in Kenya, has been in the fore front in building
tour capacity in the country.
Toyota further pledges to roll-out
an after service package that will ensure tour operators vehicles receive after
sale services from the wide Toyota branch network.
The car firm has in the recent past
commissioned an aggressive expansion plan that has seen the development of 4
branches, Mombasa, Eldoret, Westlands and Lodwar and dealerships in Kitale,
Meru, Kericho, Nanyuki, Nyeri, Nakuru and Kisumu.
