Kenya General Trade Fair officially Opened as Kenya is Cited the Gateway to East Africa Bloc

 The annual Kenya General Trade Fair organized by the Turkel Fair Organization  has today opened its doors in Nairobi, and is set to run from June 21- 24 at the Kenyatta International Conference Center (KICC) . The exhibition has gathered manufacturers from 7 different countries namely Turkey, Kenya, Italy, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Indonesia, Jordan and Iran, under the same roof. The fair is a great opportunity for the East African business community to find future partners, business ideas and sign new business deals.
Speaking at the opening of the trade fair, The Turkey Ambassador to Kenya, H.E Tuncer Kayalar said,” Kenya is definitely the gateway to East Africa and investors are setting up market here before they expand to the other regions.”
“Turkey is therefore delighted to partner with Kenya in increasing and promoting trade to build this lucrative economy.” Says Kayalar.
He maintained that the establishment of the Turkish Kenya Business Council has been very instrumental in bringing these two business communities together, citing that Turkey will be very involved in the construction and energy sectors; with regard to Vision 2030.
Kenya is known to have a robust private sector consisting of a large number of foreign investors and has duly been described as the investment hub in the East Africa region and as a result, many international companies have selected Kenya as their regional center.
With over 55 professional exhibitors from textile, cosmetic, food, kitchen equipment, cleaning products, auto motives and real estate sector, the fair has attracted business traders and consumers from across the region, which is a positive step in increasing trade volumes in direct foreign investment and import business, across the regional borders.
While commenting on the Kenya General Trade Fair, Turkel Fair Organization Inc. Chief Executive Officer, Bulent Erten said, “As the most prominent finance, communications and transportation center in the East African region which has an overall consumer scale of over 430 million people, Kenya is a country of very important Geo-strategic position and thus a natural attraction center for investors from all around the world.
 “The trade fair will provide the business community broader opportunities and channels to enhance their growth objectives as we are renowned for our high quality, good value products. This exhibition provides a gateway to help businesses maximize their investment opportunities in the region.” He adds.
The annual event, expected to attract more than 5,000 visitors from different industry groups and house foreign exhibitors from countries like Turkey, Kenya, Italy, UAE, Iran, Jordan and Indonesia, creates excellent and unique business networking opportunities to participants from a wide range of industries at a single platform for a large number of qualified buyers to purchase at wholesale prices.
The fair will also see participants deliberate on the latest business news, views and updates from different sectors.
